The Directors

As a people-centric business, it’s important for our customers to find out more about us and our leadership team. You won’t find our directors locked away in offices – they’re usually found on the consultants’ floor or out meeting clients.

Paul Huntingdon – Founder

Paul Huntingdon, Serocor GroupPaul founded ARM in 1996 having already gained experience of establishing and growing a niche recruitment business within an agency.

Paul has a thorough understanding of the pressures of starting with nothing but ambition and guts, having grown ARM from a one-man business into an operation with a turnover of £100+ million and employing 200 staff.

Paul is a true entrepreneur whose ventures have been characterised by the conviction that anything is achievable and that anyone can do anything if they really set their mind to it and do not accept the limits they impose on themselves. Paul is focused on aligning goals within the Group and on the creation of wealth for all. He takes an active role in our start-up companies and provides invaluable mentoring expertise.

Mike Gawthorne – CEO

Mike Gawthorne, Serocor Group

Having spent over 20 years in the recruitment industry, Serocor CEO Mike more than understands that finding good people who share in your passion, drive and determination is one of the biggest challenges facing businesses today.

He appreciates that recruitment is evolving into a ‘talent industry’, so ‘talent businesses’ (such as those comprising the Serocor Group) need to act as true professional advisors. Mike believes that while AI and general automation are replacing elements of the traditional recruiter’s role, it offers them space to solve problems and build valuable relationships, providing the client empowers them to do so. In Mike’s vast experience, candidates want to deal with career coaches: real people who have their best interests at heart. Although automation is increasing, Mike predicts the industry is going back to the way it used to be, where recruiters are warranted but behaviours have to change.

Mike’s proudest work achievement was when the Group was recognised as an employer of choice at the 2017 IRP Awards – he’s passionate about providing an environment in which the Serocor employees can both thrive and deliver a tailored, quality service to clients. That’s in addition to his passion for his children and their health, plus wellbeing, success and charity (ask him about his trek up Gran Paradiso).

The best part of his role? Meeting clients, developing solutions and championing the STEM agenda. Mike enjoys collaboration, a clear partnership and common objectives, which are only achieved through honesty, accountability and trust.
